Is it love? That which is perhaps only a distant memory, said but not wholly believed as was before; the honeymoon period over and the long years taking their toll?

Are you watching closely?
Can you see the hands of time spinning her in circles, round and round without her consent? She’s flailing out in the open air for a piñata made of steel… she’ll never break it. She’s tripping over the ropes stretched across the road to adulthood. Blindfolded, she never saw the road sign that said, “Danger: Point of No Return.”
Her tears are turning the sand into mud that traps her feet and holds her still while the world escapes time without her. She’s growing older, growing wiser, growing… silent.
